# Privacy Policy for NammaCity

This Privacy Policy explains how NammaCity (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our app. NammaCity allows users to log civic issues and host events using a Google Maps overlay with markers. This app requires Google Sign-In and displays advertisements via AdMob. By using the app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

## 1. Information We Collect  

**A. Google Account Information**  

When you sign in using your Google account, we access:  

- Your name  

- Email address  

- Profile picture  

This information is used to authenticate you and personalize your in-app experience.

**B. Location Data**  

With your consent, the app may access your device’s location to:  

- Place markers for civic issue reports or events  

- Show nearby markers for better relevance  

You can deny or revoke location access at any time via your device settings.

**C. Marker Data**  

When you create a marker, we collect:  

- Marker title and description  

- Coordinates  

- Timestamps  

This data is stored on Firebase for functionality and record-keeping.

**D. Device and Usage Data**  

We may collect basic technical data including:  

- Device model, OS version, language settings  

- App usage logs  

- Crash reports  

This helps us improve app stability and performance.

**E. Advertisements**  

We use Google AdMob to serve banner ads. AdMob may collect data including:  

- Advertising ID  

- Device information  

- Interaction logs (e.g., ad views or clicks)  

This data is used by Google solely to provide and measure performance of the ads shown within the app.

## 2. How We Use Your Information  

We use the collected data to:  

- Authenticate you via your Google account  

- Display user-specific information (e.g., previously reported issues)  

- Allow you to create and view civic issue/event markers on the map  

- Serve ads through AdMob  

- Monitor app performance, detect crashes, and ensure stability  

We do **not** sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

## 3. Data Sharing and Disclosure  

Your information may be shared only in the following cases:  

- **With Google Services:** For authentication (Google Sign-In), mapping (Google Maps SDK), and ads (Google AdMob).  

- **Legal Compliance:** We may disclose information if legally required (e.g., for government requests or to protect our rights).  

We do not share your information with any other third parties or services.

## 4. Account & Data Deletion  

Because NammaCity uses Google Sign-In:  

- You can revoke your login access at any time through your Google Account permissions.  

- We do not store any passwords or have access to your Google credentials.  

To delete your submitted data:  

Please email us at nammacitydev@gmail.com from the same Google account used in the app with the subject line **“Delete My NammaCity Data.”** We will remove your data from our Firebase database within 7 business days.

## 5. Data Storage  

All user data and marker information is stored securely using Google Firebase, hosted in Google Cloud (data regions may vary based on global availability).  

Firebase automatically encrypts data in transit and at rest.

## 6. User-Generated Content and Community Data  

**Content Sources:**  

NammaCity is a community-driven platform where all civic information is crowdsourced and user-generated, including:  

- Civic issue reports submitted by community members  

- Local events created and shared by users  

- Opinion poll responses and community feedback  

- User comments and community discussions  

**Government Affiliation Disclaimer:**  

SanDworks and the NammaCity app are independent entities and do **NOT** represent, affiliate with, or receive endorsement from any government organization including BBMP, Bangalore Traffic Police, Karnataka State Government, or any other governmental body.

**Content Accuracy:**  

All information in the app is user-generated and community-sourced. While we moderate content for appropriateness, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted information. Users should verify civic information independently with relevant authorities before taking action.

**Community Moderation:**  

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove user-generated content that violates our community guidelines or applicable laws.

## 7. Your Choices  

- **Location Access:** You can deny or disable location access via your Android settings.  

- **Ad Personalization:** You can opt out of ad personalization in your device settings under Ads > Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization.  

- **Account Access:** Revoke app access from your Google Account settings if you no longer wish to use NammaCity.

## 8. Data Security  

We follow industry best practices to protect your data:  

- All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS  

- Firebase automatically handles authentication and access security  

However, please note that no digital system is completely safe. We cannot guarantee absolute data security.

## 9. Children’s Privacy  

NammaCity is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If you believe your child has used the app and shared information, please contact us so we can delete it.

## 10. Changes to This Policy  

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. All changes will be reflected on this page with a new “Effective Date.” For significant changes, we may notify you via email or in the app.
